CLEAR ONE HEALTH PLANS CONTINUES TO COVER MAMMOGRAMS DESPITE RECENT CHANGES TO U.S. PREVENTIVE SERVICES TASK FORCE GUIDELINES - 11/20/2009
Bend, OR, November 20, 2009 – Clear One Health Plans will continue to cover mammograms for Clear One members of any age despite recent recommendations from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force to increase the recommended age and decrease the frequency of the exams. The Company remains committed to preventive medicine and early intervention to improve the treatment and care outcomes of members.
“We believe that prevention and early detection is critical to improving the health, wellbeing, and peace of mind of our members. The Company will continue to provide members coverage for annual mammograms," said Patricia Gibford, President and Chief Executive Officer of Clear One Health Plans. “As a breast cancer survivor with no family history, whose cancer was detected by a routine mammogram, I strongly encourage women to be knowledgeable and vigilant about their breast care. We encourage our members to consult their personal physicians and make their own individual choices.”
